Allergen Labeling in Food and Beverage

Allergen labeling is mandatory in most markets. Formulators need to declare allergens and manage cross-contact risks.

What to declare

Major allergens (e.g. milk, egg, soy, tree nuts, wheat, fish, shellfish, sesame) must be declared when present. Rules vary by country; “may contain” or precautionary labeling may apply.

Formulation and cross-contact

Your formulation drives which allergens appear in the product. Cross-contact in the supply chain or facility may require additional disclosure. Tracking ingredients and their allergen status in formulation software helps.
