Selling in Multiple Markets: Regulatory Basics

Different markets have different rules. Planning ahead saves time and avoids costly mistakes.

Canada: cosmetics and NHPs

Cosmetics follow the Food and Drugs Act and Cosmetic Regulations; NHPs require NPN and related requirements. Health Canada maintains hot lists and concentration limits you need to check.

United States

FDA regulates cosmetics and supplements. Labeling, claims, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements apply. State laws can add more.

EU and others

The EU has its own cosmetic regulation (e.g. CPNP, ingredient restrictions). Other regions have similar frameworks. A formulation tool that supports multiple regulatory checks helps you see requirements side by side.
